If you are the lucky owner of a Logitech Z-5500, you might already know that Logitech has added a bunch of easter eggs in the product: e.g. the secondary skin feature or likewise…
If you, like me, wants to save some cost on the electric bill (the Z-5500 consumes ~ 25Watt in standby) – you’ll turn off the system completely. Either by using the switch on the sub, or by turning off the main socket… you might have noticed that the Z-5500 doesn’t save your settings if you do so !!
So by googling a little, i found a thread on the Logitech forum where a Logitech representee firmly claims that the settings are volatile memory that are wiped when you turn off the system.
in the end of the thread you’ll read the trick that Logitech didn’t know of :
I've found that if you cycle thru the second skin trick, it will save your settings (at least for me it did).
Adjust your settings to your preference, then to cycle through to the second skin feature, hold down the input, effect, settings and mute buttons on the control pod for about 3 or 4 seconds, it'll activate the second skin. Then just do it again to go back to the original skin.
I can confirm, that cycling through the skins will actually SAVE the settings :-)
That’s what i call a nice (but slightly cumbersome) undocumented feature.
